Dentures

Having missing teeth and thinking what you can do to bring back your old smile back? Don't worry, with modern techniques, it is now possible to have your smile back. One of the way to do this is with the help of dentures. Usually people need dentures in below cases:

 

1. Loss of teeth due to some accident or fight:

Accidents happens in life, and we don't have control over it.

But some accidents leave a significant effect on our life by affecting some part our body permanently.

An example of this case is loss of teeth. It might happen to you as well, but you don't need to be unhappy about it. With new technologies you have option for getting dentures which will bring back your smile as it was by natural looking artificial teeth.

 

2. Teeth are loose, shifting, or the gaps between your teeth are wider:

Due to periodontal disease (gum disease), tooth decay, traumatic injury or some other causes teeth may get loose, shift or wide gaps may arise between teeth. While dentures take some getting used to, and will never feel exactly the same as natural teeth, today's dentures are natural looking and more comfortable than ever.

 

Dentures can be of two types:

• Removable Partial Denture

• Complete Denture

Removable Partial Dentures(RPD)

As the name suggest, when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw, partial dentures are used to fill in the spaces created by missing teeth and prevent other teeth from changing position. 

R.P.D. are basically replacement artificial teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base, which rests on a framework that attaches to your natural teeth.

Complete Dentures

In some cases, when you need to have all teeth replaced or have no teeth left due to age or some other reasons, complete dentures are used. They contain a flesh-colored acrylic base which fits over gums. The base of the upper denture covers the palate which mean roof of  our mouth and the lower denture is horseshoe shaped to accommodate the tongue.
